Emerald Kraken, XLA and other magical creatures

January is nearly at an end and I have yet to begin tying my first saltwater flies. Lots of tying materials have arrived, twice as much are on their way. In the category of new arrivals, I present to you the Emerald Kraken, XLA and other magical creatures. Come spring, they will be put to test in one of the harshest environments in saltwater fly fishing: the Nubian Flats.

The Shrimps Have Eyes

Well, it may be more than 10 years since I tied my last trout and pike flies… so it shouldn’t be that hard to get back on track. Says me while still fearing that „Flexo Crab” saltwater fly pattern, which seems quite scary to complete. Almost as every time, I’m sure there must be a method to any madness, saltwater flies included. The shrimps have eyes. So, let’s start making them.
