The EDGE Gamma Beta fly rods redefine top performance (I)

Overwhelmed. Amazed. In love. Shocked. Bled out. Infected (literally). Hooked on. Addicted. Just a few ways to describe my trip at the edge of uncertainty, on the Sudanese Nubian Flats, in May. The EDGE Gamma Beta fly rods by Gary Loomis provided me with ample, dependable, top of the line performance during my first saltwater adventure in Africa. The EDGE Gamma Beta fly rods redefine top performance (I) covers the first half of the review – I decided to split it since the words alone covered almost 6 pages.

Catch & Release sau dreptul la capturi-record

Există o întrebare simplă la care ar trebui să răspundem ţoţi cei care suntem sau aspirăm la statutul de pescar sportiv: cum vrem să prindem peşti tot mai mari dacă nu-i eliberăm? Măcar o parte din ei. Nu militez pentru C & R exclusiv, dar de undeva trebuie să începem. Catch & Release sau dreptul la capturi-record sunt sinonime în toată lumea civilizată, deci de ce să nu încercăm adoptarea şi la noi?

I own 4 DEPS Slideswimmer 250 swimbaits since last year. The one that I used extensively lost some of the scale-foil but in two days and a half it brought me lots of fish over 70 cm. Moreover, it brought me lots of fun. And adrenaline, too. Swim like a fish: DEPS Slideswimmer 250 videocast is the first of a long series focused on swimbaits actions filmed in their „natural” environment, right in the water.

Fishing & Hunting Expo 2017 în imagini: prietenii şi colegii de suferinţă de la Fishing & Hunting Channel organizează, pentru al doilea an consecutiv, expoziţia omonimă, dedicată pasionaţilor de halieutică şi vânătoare. Pentru prima dată de când particip la asemenea manifestări, m-am dus acolo cu dorinţa de a face un „Top 10 best picks” şi am plecat de acolo cu senzaţia că nu am văzut destul. Cred că este cea mai mare expoziţie organizată până acum, iar cantitatea de marfă pe care am găsit-o în toate pavilioanele este de proporţii epice.

Emerald Kraken, XLA and other magical creatures

January is nearly at an end and I have yet to begin tying my first saltwater flies. Lots of tying materials have arrived, twice as much are on their way. In the category of new arrivals, I present to you the Emerald Kraken, XLA and other magical creatures. Come spring, they will be put to test in one of the harshest environments in saltwater fly fishing: the Nubian Flats.
